City & Guilds Practical Horticulture Level 1 with Myerscough College
City & Guilds Practical Horticulture Level 1 with Myerscough College
Wednesdays 1.30-3.30pm
If you’re just starting out in gardening and want to learn practical skills, or you’re interested in gaining a recognised qualification in horticulture, then this short course is perfect for you! Under the expert guidance of Myerscough College’s Horticulture tutor, you’ll learn skills such as planting out, preparing ground, pruning, propagation and using tools.
The course operates a rolling intake model, and learners can join whenever a space becomes available. Learners who complete a minimum number of learning units will be awarded a City & Guilds Level 1 Award in Practical Horticulture, and additional units may be completed in order to achieve a Certificate or Diploma.
Regular weekly attendance is strongly encouraged as some units are completed over more than one session. No experience necessary. The course is free to Liverpool City Region residents.
Please note the course takes place at the same time as volunteer and open garden sessions, so there will be other people working in the garden while training takes place. (Learners are encouraged to join our volunteer team on completion of the course!) If you are a member of our regular volunteer gardening group, please feel free to sign up to this course and pick up volunteering again when you finish.
Learners must be 19+.
There is currently a small number of places available on this course. If you are interested in joining, please email us.
