PAST EVENT Hempcrete Installation Workshops & Information Sessions

£0.00

Hempcrete is one of the oldest construction processes and it’s making a comeback for a low carbon future. We will be installing this insulating cladding on the Changing Rooms, our low carbon community building, which when complete will become a Therapy and Wellbeing Centre and Community Workshop space for the walled garden project.

We've had to go as far as mid Wales to find a contractor who uses this material, and our aim is to share the knowledge of these skills across the Merseyside region so that more capital projects, and the environment, can benefit.

Following our very successful introduction to hempcrete workshops last year, we're delighted that we've been successful in gaining a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to deliver a longer training programme as part of our plans for the Changing Rooms.

The training sessions will run during the weeks of 12 and 19 June, and will be delivered by Hempcrete Cymru. Training is free, open to anyone who is interested in learning more about this process. You don’t need to be available for all sessions: you can commit to as much, or as little, as you like.

Registration is now closed for the training programme, but if you are interested in learning more about hempcrete and how we are using it on the Changing Rooms, why not join us on Thursday 22 June for one of our Introduction to Hempcrete sessions. Join Harrison Stringfellow Architects, Hempcrete Cymru and Growing Sudley to learn more about using hempcrete as a construction material, see it being installed onsite, and have your questions answered over light refreshments in the Walled Garden. Each session lasts about an hour, and you can book below:
