Beginners' Bird Walk and Talk
Beginners' Bird Walk and Talk
Saturday 21 March 2026
10am-12noon
If you’re interested in learning more about native UK birds, and would like to be able to identify some of the most common species by sight and sound, then this beginners’ bird walk is for you!
The session will start with a talk about some of the frequent visitors to the walled garden, and will include photographs and sound recordings of each species observed in the garden during January’s RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. Following this there will be a guided walk around the garden and wider Estate where you can put this knowledge to the test and try to spot birds by sight and sound.
This is a relaxed and enjoyable session, suitable for adults with little or no prior knowledge of birds.
The session will be mostly outdoors, and may involve some uneven ground and periods of waiting/observing. Warm layers and appropriate footwear will be required, and waterproofs are advised.
If you have a pair of binoculars, please bring them along.
If you would like to attend but cost is a barrier, please do get in touch to ask about subsidised places.
